DoubleTake by Filmic is a powerful tool that transforms your iPhone into a professional multi-cam studio, allowing you to capture video from two cameras simultaneously. It's compatible with a range of recent devices, but it's important to note that multi-cam video functionality is limited to specific iOS 15 supported devices. These include the iPhone 13 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 11 Pro Max, 11 Pro, 11, Xs Max, Xs, Xr, SE 2, and iPad Pro 2018 and newer. While the app can be installed on other iOS 15 devices, video recording will be restricted to a single camera.

DoubleTake opens up new possibilities for video recording with its array of features:

• Camera Visualization: The app provides a camera picker view that visually represents all available cameras on your device. This feature helps you frame your shots and choose the ideal cameras for capturing your content.
• Shot/Reverse shot: With DoubleTake, you can capture organic and intimate interactions between actors or interviewees. Traditionally requiring two cameras in cumbersome setups, DoubleTake simplifies this process by placing one device between the subjects. This immerses the audience in the conversation.
• Multi-cam: Capture different focal lengths of the same subject simultaneously using DoubleTake with the appropriate lenses. For instance, with the Ultra Wide lens (available on iPhone 11 Pro Max, 11 Pro, and 11), you can capture both an establishing shot and a close-up of your subject at the same time.
• PiP or Discreet: DoubleTake's interface allows you to view both camera feeds at once through a convenient Picture in Picture (PiP) window. You can move and zoom the PiP window, or dismiss it if desired. The second video will continue to record. Additionally, DoubleTake gives you the flexibility to record your videos as separate discreet files or as a composite video with the PiP window animated as seen on the screen.
• Split-screen: DoubleTake enables you to create engaging interview videos or scenarios where two sides of the story need equal on-screen weighting. You can utilize any two cameras to create a 50/50 split-screen effect, which is then saved as a single video.
• Focus & Exposure Controls: During multi-cam capture, DoubleTake allows you to set and lock focus and exposure independently for each camera using a unified reticle. With the camera switcher feature, you can effortlessly switch between your A and B cameras during recording to make adjustments.

DoubleTake offers impressive video specifications:

• Full frame focus and exposure for smooth and automated adjustments.
• Selectable broadcast frame rates of 24fps, 25fps, and 30fps to meet your project requirements.
• 1080p video recording with high bitrate encoding for maximum quality (please note that 1080p is the maximum resolution supported by the Apple API for multi-cam capture).
• Recorded videos are saved as .h264 .mov files in DoubleTake's internal library, which supports batch export to the Camera Roll.
